On this page i will tell you about and idea for another technology project.
This page is about possible future technology projects. Currenty i have three ideas. One idea is a protable wind turnbine for small power needs such as on a camping holiday or on board boat. The second is a charging device for small electronic products for holiday or every day use. The third is a lifting device for lifting heavey objects into and out of cars or other simliar situations. The Wind Turnbine
This idea is about a portable way to produce electricly. I had this idea for a project as i thought it would be good to have a project that is enviromently friendly and part of current issues that we should gernate more power from renable energy. This idea would produce power from the wind and it could charge a battery and then the battery could drive the thing the energy is need for. It could be used on a camping holiday in a cavan or a tent or on board boat or for a garden shed or as a back up power so u can have a light on and keep the freezer running during a power cut. It could drive the electrical applies direct from the alterator with out the abtter this would reduce the wieght.

Technical information
My current idea is it would be a metal frame work stucture. It would disasemble into about 3 peice that fit inside each other so it can go in a box to be transported. It would have the sails at the top that would drive an alternator though a gear box that is at the bottom. It would be easy to assemble and aslight as possible. I would hope it would be able to drive lights and some low wattage applies such as portable friges.
The portable charging device
This idea would be a small product with solar panels that is used to charge electrical equiment. When on holiday either in a tent caravan walking or on a boat or even in a foriegn country that you charger does not work charging equiment like moblie phones, digital cameras, camcorders, or a power supply for a walk man, CD player, gameboy. This charging unit would provide an answer to these problems. It would be small cheep and easy to use and would be able to charge a wide range of electrial equipment.
The lifting device
This idea i had as i was thinking of a project to do that helped people. It came to me when lifting heavey items out of the car such as bags of compost. This device would help lifting and moving of heavey items that are not to large. My current idea is to have frame work stucture made out of metal that would lift the item from the middle up. It would have wheels on like ones on wheel barrows so the heavey item can be transported. I was thinking these could be driven my motors the lifting could either be powered by a motor or by a hand winch.

The lifting device has been designed to help people lift items upto about 50Kg. A good place where it can be used is to lift items in and out of cars or vans.
Construction of the pulley wheel axle on the metal lath
The Metal lathe is a fun machine to use that allowed me to turn down some metal very accuraly. It is a machine that now not many people use.
Close up on the hinge
The hinge is needed in the arm so the lifting device can fold up for easy storage and transporting. It also allows for two different heights to allow for different car types.
Model 1
To get the right design lots of ideas were generated, after evaluation two different designs were left, each was made full size for testing purpose. This model is of the design not used, the main reason is the weight and complex struture and also its very hard to store.
